Virginie was instrumental in starting up the French tax advisory and compliance department when she joined PKF Guernsey in 1993. Virginie brought this expertise to BDO Guernsey following the merger in April 2013.
Virginie is fully bilingual and specialises in pre and post immigration tax planning for individuals moving to France as well as those leaving France. Offering workable, flexible and pragmatic solutions to French tax planning issues is a priority which is well-received by our clients. The department boasts long-standing clients following their move to France some decades ago. Virginie and her team prepare French tax returns both for residents and non residents covering income, wealth, gifts taxes and 3% tax for certain entities.
Virginie also specialises in advising trustees of France-connected trusts and her department also prepares their French tax trust reports under a requirement introduced in July 2011.
Virginie was born in France. She completed her post-baccalauréat four-year degree at IPAG business school in Paris. The degree covered economy, marketing, French tax and study of double tax treaties, accountancy and commercial law. Virginie has participated in presentations and radio interviews on French taxation.
She regularly updated the publication “Taxation in France - a foreign Perspective” from 1990 through to 2008. She writes on French taxation in various specialised magazines, websites and newspapers including The Times, and produces regular BDO French tax bulletins.
QUALIFICATIONS
Virginie obtained a degree in Business Studies from IPAG, a French post-baccalauréat business school
Virginie also holds a Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English
